I've been in the Cedar Valley for eight years. I'm originally from Kokomo, Indiana, where I was born and raised. Little did I know when I met Karen in New Orleans in January of 2012 that I would be relocating seven months later to raise a family here. I will save the long story in between for another day. We have three children, Josh, 15, Katie, 11, and Heston, age 7. I spent most of my life in the photography industry, where I met Karen, and then God called me into ministry in 2015.
I'm a graduate of Indiana University with degrees in business and general studies. I also graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019 with a master's in ministry leadership. I am also currently pursuing my doctorate in ministry with a focus on congregational and family pastoral care. I have a lifelong dedication to learning and adding value to others. God has taught me to "live with purpose and love without fear" this has become my life motto. God has called me as a person of value to add value to others. My commitment to value carries into the community serving on the board of directors for Cedar Valley’s Promise, Friends of Iowa CASA, and Little Ironmom all non-profits that promote child and family advocacy. It is this calling that excites me about my role as ministry team leader for Kids City.
Kids City is an exciting place to be. It is a joy to watch children discover Jesus. If only we could all rediscover the child-like curiosity our kids enjoy. As the ministry team leader, I join the coaches and hero-makers on their spiritual journey as they lead the kids of Kids City. The kids genuinely teach us every day what the heart of Jesus is.
My favorite verse is Ephesians 5:25-30, and it is my prayer that everyone would love each other as Christ loves the Church.
